The beavers created a hole in the ice near their den. One afternoon, the mom woke up and found a heron fishing in their spot.

They looked at each other for a moment until the beaver suddenly slapped her tail, splashing water at the heron.

The heron took it in stride and soon went back to fishing. The beaver returned about ten minutes later but just floated there a while without any more drama.
